BCN House School is a registered trademark of Kind of Amazing S.L., a company incorporated in Spain. The company is registered at Carrer Comte Borrell 94, 08015 Barcelona and is duly registered in the Commercial Registry of Barcelona, Volume 48193, Page 65, Sheet 575401.
1. This Agreement
1.1 This agreement is legally binding once the school has received a completed enrolment form from the student. If the booking is made by phone or social media (@spanishlessonswithus / @bcnhouseschool), the agreement is legally binding once the booking details have been taken by the school and once the school has received a payment (deposit or full payment).
1.2 The laws of Spain shall apply to this agreement.
2. School Responsibility
2.1 The school does not accept any legal liability for the actions of students.
2.2 The school cannot assume responsibility for interruptions to courses resulting from forces outside our control (such as natural disasters, strikes, civil disturbances, etc.). Lessons missed as a result of the above causes will not be made up or refunded.
2.3 Complaints about the performance of the agreement or about the course must be reported immediately to the school office. If the student does not communicate with the school within a reasonable time, the school accepts no liability.
2.4 The school is not responsible for printing errors that may appear, nor for errors in third-party publications of the school. Although every effort has been made to ensure that the information contained in our literature and websites is accurate, the school accepts no liability for printing/translation errors or omissions.
2.5 The school will be responsible for malfunctioning internet connection on the part of the teaching staff, giving the option to reschedule that class to another day.
3. Student Conduct and Responsibility
3.1 All students must notify the school in case of absence and are required to respect other students, teachers and staff. Illegal use of drugs, alcohol abuse or inconsiderate or offensive behaviour towards others are considered unacceptable. The school reserves the right to cancel a course and withdraw the student without refund in circumstances where the student is found to be breaching the school’s code of conduct.
3.2 Absences due to illness, accidents, or loss of network or connection on the part of the student are not justified. Classes will not be made up. If the student is in one of these situations, they should contact the school office to pause the course if necessary.
3.3 The student may not display or share content or make comments that violate the rights of other students or the teacher. The use of obscene, pornographic content and the use of language with insults, threats, racist, antisemitic, homophobic, transphobic comments and, in general, offensive to the dignity of third parties is prohibited. If this happens, the teacher may expel the student from the session and the school may cancel the course for that student without a refund.
3.4 The school is not responsible for the malfunction or lack of internet connection on the part of the student.
4. Payment
4.1 The student must make payment for the contracted course weeks before classes begin.
4.2 The school reserves the right to cancel the student’s booking due to non-payment.
4.3 The total cost consists of the course cost and any other additional services or fees.
4.4 The student will not have access to the class before full payment has been received.
4.5 The school is not responsible for students’ bank charges.
4.6 When the student makes a payment in a currency other than euros, a surcharge may be applied to cover the cost of currency exchange. In such a case, the cost will be borne by the student.
4.7 Once payment has been completed, the student will receive confirmation of the course for which they have paid.
5. Minimum Age and Documentation
5.1 The minimum age to attend BCN House School classes is 18 years. Exceptions are made for certain courses and under certain circumstances. In the case of a booking by a minor, it is essential that it is backed by an adult.
5.2 Students must register at the school with an official identity number, address and personal details in order to be accepted.
6. Late Arrival or Absence
6.1 When the student starts the course later than the specified start dates, whether justifiable or not (including illness, personal reasons etc.), there will be no refund or compensation with a free course extension.
6.2 Classes missed due to student absence cannot be made up.
6.3 In case of non-attendance at the course, the following rules apply: The school has the right to refuse the student certificate. The school will only provide the school certificate when the student has attended at least 80% of classes. The school has the right to reassign the student to a new group that suits their actual level.
7. Our Courses
7.1 The school may change the course structure and timetables when necessary.
7.2 On national public holidays (Spain) there will be no classes and these days will not be made up or refunded. Individual classes that fall on public holidays will be rescheduled.
7.3 The minimum number of participants to confirm a regular course group is 3 and the maximum is 8. In the conversation club the minimum will be 3 students and the maximum 6.
7.4 The school reserves the right not to open a group if it does not reach the minimum number of students.
7.5 Depending on the number of students and teacher availability, the school reserves the right to determine the lesson schedule.
7.6 One class equals 90 minutes for semi-intensive courses. One class equals 120 minutes for extensive courses. One class equals 60 minutes for the conversation club. The duration of private classes is determined with the student.
7.7 Level progression will only be determined by the criteria of the teachers and/or coordinators.
7.8 All students, except absolute beginners, must take a level test.
7.9 The school does not offer free trial classes except those that are part of a special promotion.
7.10 The school reserves the right to modify the class schedule to better meet the needs of students.
7.11 For organisational reasons, the school may substitute the class teacher. All our teachers have experience and offer quality teaching.
7.12 The school reserves the right not to continue with a course already started if it does not have the minimum number of enrolled students (3).
7.13 Students are not allowed to take photos, record videos or make screenshots of classes without informing the teacher, the school, or the other students. If the student shares/distributes recorded class material on social media or any platform and/or advertising, the school may take legal action.
7.14 Class absences cannot be made up or refunded even with a medical certificate.
7.15 The school offers attendance certificates with the total number of hours, start date and the final level achieved by the student. This certificate is not official and is not equivalent to a DELE.
7.16 The cost of the certificate is included in the course price.
7.17 If the student has not attended 80% of the classes, they will not be able to receive an attendance certificate.
7.18 Certificates are only prepared on request. Students must request the certificate and they will be sent by email only.
8. Changes to Bookings by the Student
8.1 The student must notify the school of booking changes by email (info@bcnhouseschool.com) or social media (Instagram @Spanishlessonswithus / @bcnhouseschool) at least 7 days before these changes take effect. Notifications not received through one of these means will not be accepted. Requests for booking modifications are subject to availability.

8.3 Modifications are only valid when confirmed by the school.
8.4 A course booking is assigned on an individual basis and therefore cannot be reassigned or transferred to another student.
9. Cancellations by the Student
9.1 All students wishing to cancel their course must notify the school by email (info@bcnhouseschool.com) or social media (Instagram @Spanishlessonswithus / @bcnhouseschool). The cancellation date is considered the date on which the school received the written notification.
9.2 The student may cancel once the course has been paid for, but no refund will be made. Instead, that payment will be kept for a future course or can be exchanged for another type of class and/or course.
9.3 Cancellations are not possible once the course has begun. No refund will be given after the day the course is due to begin. Instead, that payment will be kept for a future course or can be exchanged for another type of class and/or course.
9.4 If the student cannot attend class due to illness, they can contact the school to find out what information they missed from the class in order to study at home. Unfortunately, the class cannot be made up or a refund requested.
9.5 Private classes may be cancelled and rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice. If the class cancellation is notified less than 24 hours in advance, the class will be charged. In the case of rescheduling the class less than 24 hours in advance, the school will attempt to do so, but if not possible, the student must attend the class at the originally scheduled time or the class will be charged.
9.6 The duration of classes is determined by the student and the teacher.
9.7 Private classes may be for one or up to three people maximum in the case of semi-private classes.
9.8 The schedule and content of classes are flexible. The teacher will adapt the classes to the student’s requests.
9.9 Unannounced absences will count as a cancellation and will therefore be charged.
9.10 If the student arrives late to class, the lost time cannot be made up. If the delay is more than 30 minutes, the teacher will not be obliged to wait and the class will be cancelled unless the student has given prior notice of their delay.
10. Virtual Campus
10.1 Access to the virtual campus is a personalised service for the student and is included in the course price. This right cannot be transferred to another person. The student is responsible for using the password and username confidentially. The student may not share these details with other people.
10.2 BCN House School is not obliged to maintain the username or any data or information stored in an account once the course has ended.
10.3 Access to the virtual campus or the website may be interrupted on an exceptional basis. This may happen for various reasons such as maintenance or improvement work on the website.
10.4 Once the course is completed, access to the virtual campus will no longer be available.
