HELLO!

Who is behind BCN House School?

Hello! I'm María, Founder of BCN House School. I'm a Spanish teacher for foreigners, qualified and passionate about teaching. With many years of experience behind me, I know that learning a language goes far beyond memorizing grammar rules: it's about living it, enjoying it, and making it your own.

I've always dreamed of creating a school where learning Spanish would be a close, practical, and quality experience. And although life sometimes presents us with unexpected challenges, it also gives us opportunities. When the pandemic arrived in 2020, I decided to transform the way of teaching and invested in the online world. After much effort, I discovered that an online school can not only match the quality of in-person format, but even surpass it. Thus BCN House School was born, a space designed for you, so you can learn Spanish effectively, dynamically, and, above all, with confidence. If you want to improve your Spanish, here is your school. We accompany you on the journey.

Brushstrokes that define me:

» I like sweets and spending time with my dog, Tortitas.

» I don't do anything without background music.

» I love Christmas and spending time with family.

» My favorite season is spring.

» My favorite movie is "Breakfast at Tiffany's".

» A habit... I can't sleep with my feet covered.

» Something strange about me... I like dipping cookies in water.

» I don't like going out when it rains or my favorite series ending.

What do students say about María?

María is not only a very kind, likeable and fun person, but also a fantastic teacher. I have been learning Spanish with her for more than a year. I started from zero and today I am able to communicate with other people, watch movies and read books in Spanish. With her educational skills, her patience and her tireless motivation, the hours of class with María fly by super quickly and are also a lot of fun. We laugh a lot! It feels like talking for an hour with a friend, a friend who knows a lot about her country and its history. Furthermore, María is able to explain Spanish grammar in a very structured and understandable way. Apart from grammar, I learn so much about Spanish culture, Spanish traditions and food. María is an inexhaustible source of recommendations for the best restaurants in Barcelona! I have never in my life found such a fantastic teacher.
